Long exposure on mountain lake

Frozen lake

I know, I should share photos of my travels with you, as you must be bored to see always Artouste. But I feel like that this place is so beautiful that we can not get bored to see it! Next time, I’ll share some photos of my travel in South America, so that you can travel a bit!

Panoramic view of the Artouste lake

Artouste lake

If you take the Artouste train, you can’t miss the opportunity to walk for 20 minutes to discover such an amazing landscape. Many people unfortunately only take the train and don’t walk up to this beautiful lake, either because they are not equipped for hiking or because they just prefer to stay at the bar. As you can see, it’s really a pity not to make the effort. Just to remind you that the weather can change quickly in the mountains and you need to wear warm clothes even in summer, just in case.

As I am taking photos of the tourists in the train, I can tell you that many people are not aware of the sudden changes of weather in the mountains and they are not properly equipped. The minimum to wear should be water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, sweater, long paints, hiking shoes (or at least comfortable closed-toe shoes), rainy coat, and finally water and food.

Cross and sea at the Basque coast

Cross_and_sea

I was trying to find some good spot to shoot some view of the colourful see on this sunny day on the Basque coast. As there was a police control entering Bidart, I decided to stop the car and check at the landscape. Not a bad decision apparently!

Waterfall from melting snow at the Pic du Midi d’Ossau

Pic du Midi d'Ossau

Local people hadn’t seen so much snow in June for the last 30 years. The Pic du Midi d’Ossau that you can see in the background is still mottled with snow, which is really not typical for the season. As snow is melting down, waterfalls in Ossau are really powerful for the season and hiking is somehow dangerous because of the risk of snowslides. We witnessed one at the slope facing us.
